Account book, 1810 May-1815 Jan., of the New York City merchant firm of John Hicks Howland and Joseph Grinnell, recording bills payable and bills receivable. Most of their income seems to have come from the outfitting of ships, and most of their accounts are with the owners of such vessels. Volume is labelled as journal number 1.
